Career Opportunities
Program alumni are at the forefront of society's search for environmentally acceptable solutions to ever increasing energy problems. Typically, they find equally attractive employment in industry, academia and government. Recent graduates from the contributing Fuel Science and Geo-Environmental Engineering programs have challenging jobs in corporations such as Amoco, Corning, ExxonMobil, Johnson Matthey and Hexcel; at universities such as Delaware, the Technion, and the University of Western Australia; and in government institutions such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Energy.
Skill Sets
Students completing this program will acquire capability in the following:
- Core competency in disciplines associated with energy engineering and with geo-environmental engineering, acquired from on-campus programs in engineering and in the Earth and atmospheric sciences and engineering.
- Integrative skills derived from collaborative learning course(s), including the completion of team projects, and development of oral and visual communication skills.
- Broad understanding of how their specific discipline fits within the broader context of engineering and environmental issues.
- Practical qualification and training of interest to employers in the energy and environmental sectors.
