Students interested in discovering contemporary business strategies and solutions for Earth's energy and environmental outlook will find the Energy Business and Finance program a good fit. The program combines training in business, economics, finance, and the physical sciences with a core of classes focusing on the energy and related industries. The major helps prepare students for careers in the energy industry, climatological and meteorological business and communications firms, as well as financial institutions, non-profit groups, and international organizations dealing with energy issues. The curriculum also provides a strong base for further study in business, economics, law and social sciences.
The EBF program has only recently become a part of the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering. Here you can view the June 2006 report by the EBF Advisory Committee recommending that action. You can also read the fall 2006 letter to students from Andrew Kleit, EBF program officer, explaining how the advisory committee report affects the EBF program and its students.
