Teaching and Learning Concepts:

  • Utilizes demonstrations and hands-on experiences to present real-world examples.

  • Develops class projects that reflect how the scientific enterprise operates.
  • Gathers and reviews information obtained from the internet, news, articles, and exams.

  • Utilizes weekly problem sets instead of examinations (for FSc 431 and EGEE 451 only).

Courses:

EGEE 101 (GN) ENERGY AND THE ENVIRONMENT (3) Energy utilization and technological development, energy resources, conversion and consequences on the local and global environment and future energy alternatives.

FSC 431 CHEMISTRY OF FUELS (3) Nature and properties of fossil and other fuels, including aerospace, in relation to use; preparation of fuels; by-products; fuel analysis.

EGEE 451 ENERGY CONVERSION PROCESSES (3) Emphasizes processes for conversion of fossil fuels, nuclear and biomass to other fuel forms as transportation fuels and electricity.
